BRIEF HISTORY: The Montgomery Art Guild (MAG) was formed in the late 1950's by a group of local Montgomery area artists for the purpose of promoting and making the citizens of Montgomery, Alabama aware of the visual arts. Mae Belle Gay, art professor at Huntingdon College, was the first president of the Guild (1957–58). The Guild was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1968. It still thrives today as an integral part of art scene here in the River Region.
